Company description:: How can homeless or poor use this search tool? What homeless person owns a computer? Every library across North America (Canada and USA) have public access computers with free internet access (please spread the word, we even bought this easy to remember domain name (SpareSomeChange.com) as most people who ever wound up homeless have panhandled with the phrase "Spare Some Change?"). This FREE tool helps homeless individuals help themselves! Donations keep this site running and free.
The main feature to this site is the Homeless Search Engine where you can search for a wide variety of search terms. Over 5,000 links have been added to the main database that the searcher accesses. All links are hand selected in order to get rid of irrelevant web sites not relating to homelessness or low income help. Organizations and groups are able to submit their own web sites to the database for free. This is the World's largest collection of homeless related links on the largest online homeless network around.
Other features include a homeless photo gallery, homeless classifieds (rentals, shared accommodations, etc), message forums to post questions (or comments, poems, life story, etc), live chat room on a private server, links relating to homelessness, and much more! Many more features are to come, this site has only been online for a little over a month (bought domain name on Nov. 27, 2003 and started production the next week).
We need your help submitting web sites, photographs, ideas and other helpful resources so people who need these services can find them easier with modern technology. Maybe you could create a pamphlet for resources in your area and send us a copy? Many more ways you can help the homeless through links on our main page, let's not wait for everyone else to fix the problem any longer...
