Company description:: Great Neck, NY January 2004 – A panel discussion, featuring some highly respected names in the local business world, will be held on February 10th at Sterling Glen of Great Neck. Independent Business Women’s Circle (IBWC), the Great Neck-based social networking group for entrepreneurial and business women, will sponsor the event.
“A lot of people are grappling with the question…is this a time when women are more challenged in business, or is there more opportunity for women today? I feel that it is largely a function of people’s beliefs regarding what is possible,” says panel organizer and speaker Catherine Wright , Vice President at Legend Development Services. “The purpose of this panel for IBWC is to explore this question and take a look at how women can regain their power while being more successful in business. It is important to recognize that women and men bring unique qualities to the business table that need to be honored to create greater success in business and a more successful society.” Ms. Wright will be joined by panel members Jan Guarino of Guarino Graphics, Ellen Volpe of American Business Association, Siobhan Murphy of Quest Coaching, and Steve Earley of The Training Source. Vicki Ellner of Family Care Certified Services, will moderate.
This is the first time IBWC will be sponsoring a panel discussion. The group, which draws its members from Nassau, Suffolk, and Queens, was founded to bring together enterprising women from all walks of life to explore the issues of career growth and personal development, and to form professional relationships that will significantly enhance their lives.
They meet on the second Tuesday of every month for either a speaker or networking event. A subsidiary of Womanspace, they are a non-profit organization that seeks to reach out to the community by offering educational materials and support for all working women.
The panel discussion, entitled “Calling All Women - and Men: How Feminine Strengths Can Solve Today’s Tough Business Challenges,”
will be held on February 10th at 12:30 PM at Sterling Glen of Great Neck (formerly The Mayfair), 96 Cuttermill Road. A buffet luncheon, courtesy of Sterling Glen, is included. Admission is $20.00 for non-members, and interested parties should contact Audrey Kaufman at 516.496.0944 to reserve their space by February 6th. Visit ibwc.org to learn more about the group, or contact Karen Bomzer at 631.754.6640 for membership or event information.
